Hospital Days

I am at the hospital today visiting my father. It is not easy but I want to be here for him. Kalasin is far from Bangkok and I do not come back as often as I should. But when family needs you, you go. That is just how it is. I took the bus and it was a long ride but I slept most of the way so it was okay. The hospital here is basic but the nurses are kind. My father smiled when he saw me and that made the whole trip worth it. I sat next to his bed and we talked about nothing important. Just small things. What I have been eating, how the weather is in Bangkok, if I have been sleeping enough. Father things. I did not dress up today. Just came as I am. A little bit of lipstick because I can never leave the house without it, but that is all. Some days are not about looking good. They are about showing up. I will stay for a few more days before heading back to Bangkok. Right now there is nowhere else I would rather be.
