Dangerous Vibes, Quiet Night

I went out tonight just to feel something different. Same town, same places, but I put on my white top and my favourite shorts and suddenly the night felt new. That is the power of dressing up even when you have nowhere special to go.

My hair was still a little wet from the shower. I did not even bother to dry it properly. Sometimes that look works better than anything you plan. I sat down at this little bamboo spot near my place and just let the evening happen.

People in Nueva Ecija do not really understand what I am. Or maybe they do and they just do not say anything. Either way, I have stopped waiting for permission. I am 25 years old and I know what I look like. I know what I feel like. That is enough.

The Philippines is different from Thailand when it comes to being trans. There is no word like kathoey here. People call us bakla but that does not really fit either. I am just Kaye. I have always been Kaye. The labels can catch up when they are ready.

Tonight I was just a girl sitting in a bamboo chair, sending out dangerous vibes to no one in particular. And honestly, that is one of my favourite things to be.
