Pink Hair, Sick Days

I have been sick for the last few days. Nothing serious but enough to keep me in bed and make me feel sorry for myself. Being sick in Samui is strange because the weather is so beautiful outside and you are stuck inside feeling terrible.

I put on my pink hair today because I was tired of looking sick. If I am going to feel bad I might as well look interesting. The olive dress too. Something about getting dressed up when you are not well makes you feel like you are fighting back a little.

My boyfriend just came back and I wanted to look good for him even though I was still not a hundred percent. He said I looked fine. Men always say that. Fine is not what I was going for but I will take it.

Tomorrow I think I will feel better. The fever broke yesterday and my appetite is coming back. I ate rice soup this morning and it stayed down. Small victories. That is what recovery is. One bowl of soup at a time.
